Finish this sentence "10 years from now I will be...." (explain)

10 years from now I will have graduated from college and started my life after school. I would probably have started a job and started paying my own bills. I would own my own house and my own car. I will be living on the coast somewhere.

Yesterday I had you choose a global issue and you wrote about it on your blog. Today on your blog I want you to tell me about two different perspectives of your global issue. Are there people for and against your issue? Do people disagree on your issue? Is it a topic that can cause controversy? Look at the issue for two different perspectives. Tell me about those perspectives.

People who commit organized crime and people who benefit from organized crime are people who would be agree with organized crime. For some people, organized crime is the only way for them to survive and get money. They join organized crime rings to survive and support themselves. If organized crime was not around they wouldn't be able to survive.

People who have been negatively affected by organized crime are most likely against organized crime. A lot of people in the world have been affected by organized crime. They have had money stolen from them and in some extreme cases lives taken away from them. They want to abolish organized crime to make the world a better place.

Organized Crime

Once you have selected an issue, create a new blog post and answer the following questions:

  1. Without doing any research, what background do you currently have on this issue?
  2. What do you want to know about this issue?
  3. Why did you choose this issue? Had it effected your life? Is it something you are passionate about? Explain.
I don't have much background on this topic. I am not a criminal and haven't studied much about organized crime. I would like to know just how much of an impact organized crime has on America and countries around the globe. I chose this topic because I thought it would be interesting to learn about. Organized crime has not had an effect on my life. No, I am not very passionate about crime, but it is interesting to learn about.

Last week I asked your to "think differently" and push yourself to be uncommon with your PSA project using Google Slides. Why do you think I asked you to do that? What is the point? Why not just use bullets and headers? Explain.

You asked us to be creative so that we can learn to think outside of the box. Creativity is a important skill in the real world and in the school system it is sometimes taken away. Bullets and headers are boring and not fun to watch.

Kids these days are crazy. They're always on their phones and playing their video games. They don't have many manners and don't hold the door open for me. They're obnoxious in public and always have energy.

PSA- Nutrition

1/22/15

What is a public service announcement (PSA)? What do PSA's do? What makes a good PSA? How can you get someone to take action after watching a PSA? What is you PSA idea? Explain in detail.

A PSA is something that is designed to inform the public about a certain topic. It is usually designed by a non-for-profit organization. A good PSA explains the topic and how it can effect your life. Give them a number to call or an e-mail can  get people to take action. My PSA topic is nutrition.

Tell me all about your 3 day weekend. Share photos!

This weekend was fun. Our coach gave us Saturday off so I didn't have to wake up early for practice. On Saturday I slept in very late and didn't do much the entire day. Sunday I went to church and hung out with some friends. On Monday I had practice in the morning and then after that spent the rest of the day with friends. We had an air soft war and played wiflle ball.

Tell me a little bit about yourself and your life here at BVHS. What activities or clubs are you involved in? What year are you in school? What is your favorite class and/or teacher so far this year? What are you looking forward to this school year? Include some original photos from your phone if you can.
I am a freshman in high school. So far I have had a great time here at BVHS. The teachers are great, the students are great, the coaches are great, pretty much everything has been great. My favorite class so far is honors biology. My favorite teacher is Mr. Hulse. I am involved in basketball and I am on the freshman A team. So far we are 8-0 on the season. I am looking forward to learning more and becoming a better person.

What are your thoughts on this class so far? Easy? Hard? Informative? Frustrating? What have you learned so far? What do you want to learn? Explain yourself.

So far this class has been pretty easy. As long as you pay attention while you are being instructed, things should be easy. I already used a lot of the things we have gone over in class, so it has been mostly review so far. Learning how to set up the blog is something I have never done before and has been interesting to learn. I think this class will be beneficial to my technological use.

Tell me about your weekend. What did you do? Upload a photo to your Google Drive and then insert the photo (or photos!) to your blog post to show me what all you did.

This weekend I didn't do very much. I had basketball practice on Saturday in the morning and after that went and ate lunch with my team. After that I went home and took a nap. Sunday I had to get up for church in the morning then ate lunch with my family. After that I went home and took another nap. It was a very nice weekend and I caught up on my sleep.

Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

I partly agree with what is being said in the article. Yes, teenagers do need to mature and become more responsible. That doesn't mean that they have to do everything for themselves. All teens still need someone to help them with stuff. Teenagers do need to realize that they are important and the world needs them. This doesn't mean that they are ready to help the world. Life shouldn't be all abut work and jobs, people need free-time and fun time to be productive. Teenagers are already at school for eight hours a day, sometimes more for athletes and people involved in clubs and activities, that is a lot of time preparing for future life and becoming a better person.
